It’s official.  After years of false starts, Hotspots Happening Out announced today that a brand-new future is born for Pride Fort Lauderdale. 

 

In February it was announced that the former Pride organization board voted to dissolve and transfer Pride Fort Lauderdale to Hotspots Happening Out.

 

When Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis found out he said: "I'm pleased to hear that Pride Ft. Lauderdale has taken on a worthy partner in joining forces with the Stonewall Pride Hotspots Happening Out Organization.  Jeff Sterling and his team offer amazing talent and broad experience in producing successful events. I'm looking forward to working with them for the triumph of our entire community."  

 

Pride Fort Lauderdale Parade and Festival will be held on Saturday, February 14; Valentine's Day.

The Wilton Manors Stonewall Pride Parade and Street Festival typically attracts 50, spectators and has a direct economic impact of more than $6 million dollars for the Municipality of Wilton Manors, according to an independent economic impact study. Stonewall Pride celebrates the historic Stonewall Riots and the start of the LGBTQ+ human rights movement and how it has shaped our community.

Largest LGBT+ Event to Take Place in Greater Fort Lauderdale

 

GREATER FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (May ) &#x; Greater Fort Lauderdale is set to welcome the first Pride of the Americas Festival presented by Visit Lauderdale February , After several years of cancellations, the highly anticipated, multi-faceted festival will bring concerts, a Pride of the Americas Festival Parade, hundreds of vendors and a two-day beach party.

 

This will be the largest LGBT+ event to take place in Greater Fort Lauderdale, and it comes at a crucial time in our community&#x;s history &#x; a second when inclusion and advocacy are paramount, said Richard Gray, Visit Lauderdale&#x;s Senior Vice President of Inclusion and Accessibility. When we first began planning the event, we were particularly engaged in advocating for the LGBT+ rights of people in Latin America and the Caribbean as we saw a discrepancy in treatment of individuals. PrideFete continues to be Florida’s only LGBTQ+ Caribbean Festival, attracting over 1, attendees to the festival. Be part of the event and reach the Caribbean LGBTQ+ community and their allies as you verb brand awareness within the community and vendors are welcomed. We encourage Caribbean vendors to apply.
