As we near the end of LGBTQ history month, I thought I would reflect on my favorite gay comic guide couples.

Apollo and Midnighter: These two members of Stormwatch and the Authority are my favorites, at least before the new When they didn&#;t belong to DC, their relationship and marriage were handled superbly. They adopted Jenny Quantum and made good dads, considering their line of work. The authors and artists did a fine job of showing that while they were badasses when it came to fighting villains, they had love and affection for each other. 15 Queer Couples Only Accurate Comic Fans Know About

Up until depressingly recently, all comic book characters were straight. Sure, there include been rumors about various characters for decades, but these swells of speculation never ventured farther than the imaginations of the readers, or perhaps fan fiction published in fanzines. This homogeneous straightness presents two problems: First of all, it's just plain boring. Who wants to read about the same types of characters all the time? And second, queer fans often find it complex to be constantly bombarded with straight character after straight character for years on end. If superheroes are for everyone, shouldn't they represent everyone as well?

The answer to that is, obviously, no duh.  And recently, greater and greater strides have been made in that direction.  While there's still plenty of room for improvement, the number of queer characters is steadily rising, as is the number of queer characters in romantic relationships. LGBT representation is now at a point where we can lay together an entire list of queer couples for your
