As a Canadian, I will always have great respect for Anne Murray. She became a face of Canada to the world with her music.

But on a personal level, she means a lot to me. When I was a child, my mom used to play her records. That's when I became a fan. I loved listening to those records with my mom. When I was five, my mom wrote to Anne Murray and received back two personally autographed photos of Anne and my mom gave them to me and my sister. When I was six, my mother was hospitalized for life due to a brain aneurysm and a massive stroke which paralyzed her. It was very difficult for myself and my family, but listening to Anne Murray always brought good memories.

Fast forward years later, my two male friends got married. I wanted to give them something unique and special in addition to my wedding gift. So I remembered what my mother did when I was five and wrote Anne Murray and requested an autographed picture to give to them. Not only that, she wrote their names and wished them a joyful marriage.
