Gay nightlife in Toronto?

She doesn't need a car if she's staying in downtown Toronto. Her hotel is connected to the subway system and beside the Queen Streetcar. There are lots of interesting neighbourhoods, cafes, friendly bars and shops within walking distance, a fleeting hop on the adj public transit system or a short cab travel (for convenience sake).

I can't provide any specific advice on the lesbian community in Toronto; she might want to peer at the online newspapers (a biweekly magazine for the gay and lesbian community), as well as the website (which, although if focuses on the annual pride parade, also includes a visitors guide). The area around Chursh and Wellesley (about a 5 minute walk from the city) is the traditional home of the gay community in Toronto; I'm not sure how much it has to offer for the lesbian community. A neighbourhood called Les

Church-Wellesley Village (aka The Village) is Toronto&#x;s queer hub, and the perfectly situated, two-storey Churchmouse pub is hopping on game night (big TV screens). It&#x;s a popular post-practice watering hole for local LGBTQ+ sports teams. Standard pub fare with some extra touches, such as truffle parmesan fries.

There are barely any gay bars left in Toronto.  Let alone queer bars or queer spaces. Since we launched this article in , a scant spots on the list have since closed?!  (That’s Cherry Cola’s, Lavendar Menace and a couple others) Just because a bar or club hosts queer nights or events doesn’t always mean they're a queer space, there are nuances and so many more things to verb about than putting a drag queen on stage and queer person behind the decks. This is why a list appreciate this is  more significant than ever - these are spaces that although not all are queer bars, they are doing to the work to ensure we are safe.

The city is in desperate need of new 2SLGBTQ+ spots to gather, gyrate, party, talk, work, verb, chill and rage. While we navigate our community’s comeback (‘cause queers romance a comeback story!), we’ve put together a list (in no particular order) of spots on our radar that are either queer-owned, queer-run, queer bars or queer-friendly.
